Summer 2007 Renovations

It seems like Milne Library undergoes renovation every summer!

This summer, we added a classroom, created space for the Office of Dual Degree Programs and the Engligh for Speakers of Other Languages Office, opened up the Center for Academic Achievement in association with the Access Opportunity programs, created a new office space for our Technical Services Departments and added flexibility to our large computer classroom.

Check out our progress!

Room 104: Added flexibility

The purchase of new computer tables allows us to easily rearrange the room to accommodate special events, including lectures and receptions. Our recent Heavens Above exhibit has used the room for some of the associated lectures.

Room 108: DDP and ESOL

The Offices of Dual Degree Programs and Engligh for Speakers of Other Languages has a home in Milne Library Room 108. Offices were added for staff, and space created for students. The new space is now used for language workshops, tutoring, planning meetings and presentations. Students also have access to language software on the Offices computers.

Room 109: New Classroom

The former cataloging office was renovated to become Milne Library's fifth classroom. With 28 laptop computers available, the room is used for a variety of classes and will be used in the Spring for supplemental instruction for some of Geneseo's most challenging classes.

Room 121: Center for Student Acheivement

The former Aquisitions office was renovated over the summer to become the new Center for Student Acheivement. In conjunction with the Access Opportunity Program, eligible students can use the cubicles and computers available for tutoring.

Technical Services Offices:

The former Offices of Serials Department were renovated to make room for our new combined Technical Services Offices.
