Guide to Information Literacy Instruction for INTD 105

Milne librarians appreciate the opportunity to teach first years basic library skills and information literacy concepts. We ask that you bring your INTD 105 class to the library at least once during the semester. (We have research which indicates students score higher on library skills assessment if they attend two sessions of library instruction, and if they are given an assignment requiring completed research for their INTD 105 course.)

To schedule your information literacy session, go to the Library Instruction Request Form.

You may also get to it from the library website:

  • Go to the Milne Library home page: http://library.geneseo.edu
  • Go to "Requests and Policies" on the top navigation menu
  • Scroll down to "Instruction", click, and follow directions

Once your session has been scheduled, an instruction librarian will contact you to set up a planning session. Research and our experience show that the most meaningful and productive library sessions are those planned collaboratively by course instructors and library instructors.

Please direct comments and questions to Rich Dreifuss, Interim Library Instruction Coordinator, dreifuss@geneseo.edu.
