Financial
assistance is available for a library school student to attend the annual
SUNY Librarians Association (SUNYLA) conference at SUNY Geneseo from
June 14 – 16, 2006. The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage
involvement with SUNYLA and SUNY Libraries, as well as to provide professional
growth opportunities to those entering the profession. The Scholarship is a voucher covering: To apply: • Today’s digital world presents us all with ever-increasing options for entertainment; this is particularly true of children and young adults. How can we in the library community rise to this challenge to foster and encourage an interest in reading in our younger generations? • It is more important than ever that libraries respond to the needs of the populations that we serve in order to remain a vital part of those communities.
