WELCOME TO MILNE LIBRARY!

   In today's session, students will . . .

conduct research on a specific topic taken from a movie of choice (as listed in the course syllabus) and place that topic into the time period that the movie was first released.

 

   By the end of the session, students should be able to . . .

  • understand the difference between primary and secondary source material
  • search GLOCAT and/or Worldcat to find both primary and secondary sources
  • use periodical databases and print indexes (Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature and New York Times Index) to locate appropriate journal and newspaper articles for their topic

  • find the needed articles either electronically, in print, or through Information Delivery Services

  • understand the difference between scholarly and popular websites and locate appropriate sites relevant to the topic chosen
