Getting Started on your Research

To assist you in making a final decision on the country you would like to research, and to acquire relevant resources right from the start, begin with a map search in GLOCAT .

Using the advanced search screen, experiment with combining some of the following terms:

map* OR atlas*

AND

latin* OR hispan* OR spanish OR "south america*" OR "central america*"

You can limit the search to a document type of ref* or
leave as an open search for circulating books that may include maps

Always be conscious of the publication dates of the materials you find in that maps may be outdated and no longer useful for a contemporary snapshot.

Follow up with other resources, as seen below, to provide greater information on country backgrounds.
