A person stands reading a book outdoors as whimsical drawings swirl upward; the image features the title "Noteworthy" and credits Meredith Harrigan and illustrator Patrick Montanaro.

Meredith Harrigan will be speaking about her recent publications with Milne Library Publishing at Pittsford Community Library this Sunday (Oct 12) at 2pm. Her books recount her experiences following a diagnosis of early-onset Parkinson's Disease in the form of an illustrated children's story that recounts “Merry's” journey to understand and process the grief she feels over losing her smile. While exploring in a community park, she finds solace and inspiration in sights and sounds along the way. Registration is recommended.

Banned Books Week logo

Join Milne Library from October 5th–11th in celebrating Banned Books Week, an annual event celebrating the freedom to read, and highlights the value of free and open access to information.

Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in libraries, bookstores, and schools. Held in the last week of September or first week of October, the annual event highlights the value of free and open access to information and brings together the entire book community — librarians, educators, authors, publishers, booksellers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas.

Check out Milne Library's list of banned books!

black labrador dog named michele with owner wearing a shirt with michele's picture and a pine tree and moon on it

Milne Library’s beloved therapy dog, Michele, retired from service this summer. Michele and her person, Marci, visited the Library each Thursday for the past three years! In those years, Milne Library hosted birthday parties for Michele, thank you events, and even featured Michele during GREAT Day in 2024 and during de-stress events scheduled for students during finals week.

Milne Library is deeply grateful for Michele and Marci’s dedication to the well-being of SUNY Geneseo students.

Starting August 27, and lasting as long as supplies last, students are welcome to visit Milne Library to pick up Michele giveaway items (including magnets, stickers, and pins) as well as write a personal note to Michele and Marci.
