Meredith Harrigan will be speaking about her recent publications with Milne Library Publishing at Pittsford Community Library this Sunday (Oct 12) at 2pm. Her books recount her experiences following a diagnosis of early-onset Parkinson's Disease in the form of an illustrated children's story that recounts “Merry's” journey to understand and process the grief she feels over losing her smile. While exploring in a community park, she finds solace and inspiration in sights and sounds along the way. Registration is recommended.

Resource Review: Native Land Digital

Native Land Digital is an interactive map that helps users identify Indigenous territories, languages, and treaties associated with any location. By entering an address or browsing the map, students, faculty, and staff can see the layered histories of the land they inhabit. The platform is managed by an Indigenous-led board and emphasizes fluid, overlapping boundaries that reflect complex histories rather than fixed colonial lines.The map includes three key data layers—territories, languages, and treaties—and provides links to additional resources when available. It also offers teaching materials, including a Teacher’s Guide and practical guidance on crafting meaningful land acknowledgments.While North American coverage is strongest and information depth varies, the site is accessible, easy to navigate, and transparent about its limitations.
