How to Use Google and Advanced Search

The only downside to using GLOCAT is that it has more access to newspaper titles like The Washington Post and New York Times. GLOCAT is less likely to hold newspaper titles from Seattle Times, San Francisco Chronicle, or Buffalo News. To avoid this, you can also search for your desired research topic through Google.

Advanced Search

Using "Advanced Search" on Google is also a great way to get started on searching for articles concerning your topic. Here are some things to keep in mind:

Once you get to this point, take the time to look for newspaper sources based on site or domain. For example, buffalonews.com or sfchronicle.com will narrow down your results to articles that are pulled from their sites directly.

Unfortunately, you are unable to search multiple sites or domains at once and will have to use this method more than once to seek different results from other sources.

From this point forward, you should have a decent amount of sources that can be used toward your research.
