Environmental Studies and Policy Collection provides access to scholarly journals, magazines, and other reference sources covering environmental issues and policies. The database includes diverse perspectives from the scientific community, governmental policymakers, and corporate interests.
Covers agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, renewable energy sources, natural resources, marine and freshwater science, geography, pollution and waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, social impacts, and more.
General Science Collection provides access to scholarly journals and magazines covering the latest scientific developments. Key subjects covered by the database include biological sciences, computing, engineering, and technology.
The primary resource for geoscience literature. Over 2 million scholarly references to geoscience journal articles, books, maps, conference papers and abstracts, reports and theses.
The GeoRef In Process database contains records that are, literally, in the process of being indexed prior to their integration in the main GeoRef database. The majority of the records originate from non-English language literature that was not necessarily published recently. GeoRef In Process does NOT contain the most current records and should not be confused with a database of Recent References.
Access to articles, reports and abstracts from the Geological Literature. Some full text is provided. GeoScienceWorld can be used as an alternative to GeoRef, and offers some useful geographical search features
Contains citations and some full-text of articles on global warming, energy conservation, natural resources, and pollution. Includes scholarly journals and popular magazines, going back to around 1975.
GRID-Arendal was established in 1989 to support environmentally sustainable development by working with UN Environment and other partners. The organization communicates environmental knowledge through innovative communication tools, especially maps created from environmental data.
Policy Commons is a platform for objective, fact-based research from the world’s leading policy experts, nonpartisan think tanks, IGOs and NGOs. Access available until August 2023.

Geological, Environmental, & Planetary Data Resources
Geochemical data from a variety of sources worldwide. Advanced search interface allows users to define many parameters to find appropriate information.
The USGS provides science about the natural hazards that threaten lives and livelihoods, the water, energy, minerals, and other natural resources we rely on, the health of our ecosystems and environment, and the impacts of climate and land-use change. Its scientists develop new methods and tools to enable timely, relevant, and useful information about the Earth and its processes.
The National Geochemical Database project assembles, reformats, corrects, and archives historical data obtained from the geochemical analysis of millions of geologic samples collected for USGS studies. These data, representing hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of USGS research, are provided to USGS researchers; other Federal agencies; State Geological Surveys and Environmental Protection agencies; mining, mineral exploration, and environmental industries; independent consultants; academicians; students; and private citizens through online portals and project collaboration.
ShareGeo Open was a repository of geospatial data, previously hosted by EDINA. ShareGeo Open has been discontinued, so its datasets have been migrated to this Edinburgh DataShare Collection, for preservation, in accordance with the agreement signed by all ShareGeo depositors.
Mindat.org has been collecting, organising, and sharing mineral information since October 2000. It is now an essential resource used daily throughout education, academia, and industry. The mindat.org database contains information on minerals and the localities they are found at.
Texas A&M University Library has digitized this series of maps and information published by the USGS between 1894 and 1945. These maps sets offer great detail, in an easy to use online interface, although they are older.
Search for a geologic map data with keyword and map-based searching. Links are provided to online map images, where available, as well as text citations. Robust search tools allow queries of any place name or a lat/long search. Maps cover North America, primarily the United States.
Map data available for download, including US Topos (the USGS's most up-to-date topographic maps), elevation data, aerial photographs, land cover data and more.
Geologic map information from around the globe. Most maps are at approximately a 1:1,000,000 scale. Data are contributed by participating national geologic survey organizations. Coverage is still inconsistent, but growing.
