Open Access and OER

Open Publishing demystifies the publishing process for many creators. It aims to lower the costs of publishing while valuing all the labor that goes into a publication.

Rebus and F1000 are examples of Open Publishing in the transparency of their publishing processes and open peer review practices. 

Milne Library Publishing also offers opportunities for open publishing. Geneseo faculty and staff are welcome to submit proposals to the Geneseo Authors imprint, and any SUNY faculty member can propose an open textbook to Milne Open Textbooks. 

Lastly, Milne Library also offers access to Pressbooks to the Geneseo community. Pressbooks is an online book publishing platform with tools built in for annotation and open peer review.
