When to Use Databases
If you're looking for scholarly or peer-reviewed articles, select a database, journal, or other research resource from the Psychology LibGuide or the recommended databases box below.
Scholarly or peer-reviewed sources are usually written by experts in a field, and tend to focus on presenting research findings or exploring theories. These sources are typically written with an academic audience in mind.

- PsycINFO This link opens in a new windowThe most complete listing of scholarly publications in psychology and related fields. Provides references to and summaries of scholarly journal articles, books, book chapters, and dissertations.
- MEDLINE with Full Text This link opens in a new windowAuthoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings and explosion capabilities to search citations from over 4,800 current biomedical journals.
